Board Chair

Help shape the future of immersive storytelling and creative technology

Estimated commitment: 4 to 6 meetings per year (~8 hours per quarter)

is looking for a visionary and committed Chairperson to lead its Supervisory Board. This is an unpaid position as part of the foundation’s governance body and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic future of a growing and pioneering organisation.

About the Role

We are looking for a Chairperson who can lead our Supervisory Board with clarity, commitment and imagination. You will guide the board’s role in setting strategic priorities and ensuring strong governance, while also acting as a key ambassador for Innovation:Lab in the cultural and creative tech fields.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leadership: Chairing and facilitating board meetings, ensuring productive discussion and collective decision-making.
  • Governance: Monitoring adherence to relevant legal and regulatory frameworks and maintaining board accountability.
  • Strategy: Supporting the long-term vision and values of Innovation:Lab — including artistic integrity, inclusivity, and innovation.
  • Representation: Engaging with partners, funders and stakeholders on behalf of the organisation.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with the board, executive team and community to foster a culture of transparency, trust and experimentation.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Experience in board leadership, governance, or strategic advisory roles
  • Previous experience on a supervisory board or council (Raad van Toezicht) in the cultural field is required
  • Deep affinity with the arts and interest in emerging technologies
  • Strong communication skills and comfort engaging with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience in legal, policy or nonprofit environments is a plus.

Board Secretary

We are looking for a sharp, reliable and curious Board Secretary to join its Supervisory Board. This is an unpaid position as part of the foundation’s governance body and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an ambitious and growing organisation.

About the Role

We are looking for a Secretary who can help ensure that our Board remains effective, well-organised and transparent — while also contributing to the strategic direction of the Lab.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administration: Coordinating board meeting schedules and agendas (in collaboration with the Chair), taking accurate minutes, and managing formal documentation.
  • Governance: Supporting compliance with legal and regulatory requirements relevant to cultural foundations.
  • Communication: Acting as the main liaison between board members and operational leadership, supporting internal and external communication flows.
  • Strategy: Contributing to high-level discussions on the Lab’s vision, with attention to innovation, ethical development, and social impact.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Administrative and organisational skills and experience
  • Previous experience on a supervisory board or council (Raad van Toezicht) in the field of the arts is strongly preferred.
  • Affinity with the arts, emerging technologies and cultural innovation.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort navigating interdisciplinary contexts.
  • Experience in legal or governance environments is a plus.
